Im still in the studio painting up gift cards.. Im really finding it alot of fun to paint on these little cards.  My daughter has challanged me to do a dragon.  So next week's challange is to make a dragon on the cards for her.  Meanwhile, I will continue to work on my faces.. they are morphing with each one.. and i really like the direction they are going in.  hope you do too!

I have always been someone who recycles.. although they sometimes call me more of a pack rat or orgainized hoarder.  I love to find things and make them into something else.  A while ago i made a widow shade out of gift cards.

After about a year of use.. i decided that it needed an update.  so i have taken it down and are reusing the cards again to produce more art.
painted cards provide even more possiblities than using them as is.  i love the look of painting on them and plan to make more artwork with the cards.  I also have started to repaint cd's.
the possiblities are endless.

Just received my copies of Fabric Surface Design by Cheryl Rezendes.  I am honored to be on page 213 of this book.  Not really crazy about the photo.. but i love the two pieces that she choose to use in her book.  This boost was just what i needed.  I have been feeling a bit down about life and work.  Hopefully this is just the beginning of an upswing for this year.

I have been working on quite a few pieces lately.. some are UFO's and some are new.. Im not entirely happy with them.  Im not sure what they are missing.  the first one is the man in the moon.  this is an older piece that i finally finished.  Although there are parts that i do like.. there seems to be something missing.

The next one I did was another half done one with a painted face as well.  I do however, like this piece.  i like the painting, the colors and the quilting.  it all seemed to come together.

The next piece was a pieced face.  This was another older piece and i do like the quilting on this, i over all feel there is something missing from the composition.

Well, i have some new ideas... and need to get back to the studio and get back to work.. hopefully alot of new work to pour out of me this year.
